Idiot proof
At first the idea of cutting your own hair just feels wrong; like you're being cheap. But while the clippers certainly pay for themselves soon enough, cost isn't the only reason to go down this route. Cutting your own hair fits in well with the rest of your routine and feels surprisingly natural once you get started. It means you can cut more frequently and integrate it with your shave.

Of course, I'm speaking as someone who's bald on top and keeps what little hair he has left short (which, ironically, means cutting more frequently than those with a full head of hair). If you've enough for any other style, DIY is obviously going to be tougher.

Nevertheless, these are more or less idiot proof. Just start on a long setting and go down through the grades until you hit the right one.

However, there is no full charge indication; you're instructed to charge for at least 8 hours and no more than 24 hours. There should be full charge light and cut out. Also the clippers are a little noisy, it's not excessive, but you can't hear them cutting the hair, which would be useful especially at the back.

(It's worth adding that my wife didn't spot that I'd not gone to the barber.)

It's great!
I too was put off by the first review which was a bit negative. I decided to try it anyway, not expecting too much, and I was pleasantly surprised. It cuts my hair brilliantly, got a few good comments from people at work as well! Maybe it depends on your hair type - mine is very fine!

No worries
Have been cutting my own hair with clippers for 9 years now; up to now I used conventional Remington clippers.

I always managed to leave a clump of hair somewhere, which was always annoying.

I ordered these last week as they were even cheaper than eBay (£25 at time of buying). Was put off by the other guy's feedback, but researched elsewhere and he's in the minority.

The are pefectly sturdy, idiot-proof to use and best of all I didn't miss a bit; plus can be used from mains or rechargeable.

Highly recommended.

Better than any other product !!!
I just bought this GHD IV Salon Styler Hair Straightener - Wide Plates and it is amazing...My hair is coarse, curly, always intend to frizz and really hard to be straightened...But it is all in the past!!! I ordered my GHD 5 days ago from the Amazon's own retailer and even with free delivery I received them today and as I was so excited to use them and see the results I instantly used them on my hair without even bother to wash the hair before!!! And the result? with only 2 strokes on each section, it is perfectly straight!!! Unbelievable... I have got three other Straightener and with them I needed to blow dry my hair first, and then with 5-6 strokes on each small section, I could not get this result of perfectly frizz free straight hair!!! I am really amazed...I also spent hours outside today and the weather was not dry and nothing happened to my hair!!! It did not get frizzy, how strange and wonderful is that? I still can not believe it...
They are really really hot though when the little red light blinking and you need to be careful when using them and definitely use some heath protection on your hair; I use Treseme heath protection spray as I used it before with other Straightener.
It really is worth every penny you pay for that and do not waste your money on other ones; because I think you will have to buy this one at the end if you want a perfect look with minimum time spending and effort!!!
Go girls give it a try, you won't regret it...

Unlike the last reviewer, I HAVE that thick, curly hair!It took me all of 10 mins to create the straight hair I've never had. Absolutily wonderful! So glad I took advice to buy ghd's....if you're pondering whether or not to buy them.....JUST DO IT!

Search over - this one does the job and does it well
For those of you who have gone through a number of battery operated nasal hair trimmers and been disappointed on each occasion (me included) this one may just solve your problem.
Besides looking quite stylish it works very well and in around 1-2 minutes it will have done a good job of getting rid of all that unwanted nasal hair. Its angled design makes it easier to navigate your neb (and ears) and unlike other ones I have tried, this trimmer doesn't pull the hairs out (which can be quite painful) it simply clips them like a pair of scissors would.
It's easy to clean, just use the included small brush or rinse the end under the tap, and it comes with 2 eyebrow combs (one short, one long) which clip onto the trimmer to allow you to trim your eyebrows. These work quite well and do a decent job.
Also included is a plastic cover to protect the blades and an AA battery (which is always nice). One small problem i've experienced is that sometimes when you switch it on it doesnt start and you have to take the battery out and put it back in again. This isnt too big a nuisance and it only rarely needs doing.
The battery life itself is good - i'm still using the supplied battery after upwards of 20 uses.
In summary, this is probably the best battery operated trimmer available and you wont be disappointed if you buy it. I would recommend it if you can avoid Amazon's steep postage for this product (about £5) ;)

Use this if it's growing where it shouldn't!
If you've reached the age where hair won't grow where you want it to but it will grow where you don't want it to, then this is the perfect gadget. I bought one having read the previous review and it really does work and there is gain without pain! Neat and discreet with eyebrow trimming feet. Definitely worth the money. No more plucking for me!

Does what it says on the tin
This thing really works and unlike most of the other hair trimmers it does not jam or pull your hair out by the roots. As a bonus the eyebrow combs work well so you get neat eyebrows as well as ear & nose hair removal.

It's more expensive than most but well worth the money.

Do not buy
This thing is a total waste of money, the image portrayed on the tv advert is not the reality. I have recharged three time as instructed to reach the max but it hardly moves and can tug at your hair if you are not careful, I would like my money back please as I will never use this.BaByliss For Men 7435U Easy Cut Hair Clipper

Very patchy
Set to grade 1 these clippers gave me a very uneven cut all across my head which left me with patches of hair noticeably shorter than grade 1. Ended up having to redo my hair at grade 0 using the trimmers provided to get everything to the same length.

Doesn't do what it says on the tin!
While I use a Wahl clipper to cut several people's hair and my own, I thought this would be an easier way of doing it... It looked good out of the box - 16 hour initial charge, but you can use it as a mains clipper too. The supplied trimmer is supposed to be used for detailing - unfortunately, I didn't even get that far.

While it's easy to hold it simply doesn't cut well. I'd expected to have to go over each area a few times to get a decent cut but after about 10 goes over just the top of the head it looked like random patches had been taken off and it just wouldn't cut evenly... Now my hair is pretty fine and thin so if it can't handle that then I'm not sure how it will manage someone with thicker hair!

The Wahl Super Taper may not be the easiest thing to hold while cutting your own hair but it does the job -this item is not the solution...

Great stubble trimmer
Used this for the 1st time yesterday and was very impressed.

I go for the 0.4MM setting (1 day shadow) and I got an even shave without too much effort.

Overall, a good product. Highly recommended.

Much improved
I have previously owned the 7850, and 7855 models. BaByliss For Men 7855U I-Trim Stubble+ Trimmer ; Babyliss For Men 7850U I-Trim Stubble Trimmer

This one is a real improvement in several aspects. I just happened to see it in Boots on the first day they received them into stock, and as soon as I saw it had a 2-pin plug I bought it. So I have been using it now for about 4 weeks.
I was initially concerned when i saw the minimum setting was 0.4mm instead of 0.1mm as on the previous models. But basically it seems to trim almost as close as the previous models and not necessarily 4x long (with all models, whatever is set on the trimmer, the exact length of stubble remaining is dependant on how you hold the trimmer and the exact shape and texture of your face ie 0.1mm might be the trimmer setting, but it does not mean the stubble will be cut to exactly 0.1mm, or 0.2mm)

- I did not like the comb assembly on the 7855 so i used the comb from the 7850 on my 7855. This trimmer, the 7890 is excellent. I find the comb/blade arrangement is very comfortable and easy to use (and easy to clean). It pivots and seems to follow the contours of my face well.

- excellent that the adaptor/charger is now 2-pin and so the trimmer can be charged inside the bathroom (previous models had a standard 3-pin plug arrangement, and so could not be charged inside a bathroom)

- This new model charges quickly and a full charge lasts much longer than the previous models.

Only one "issue" that I have found - it does not trim the stubble immediately under my nose, the design of the head seems to only allow it to trim to within a couple of millimetres of where my nose joins my upper lip. To overcome this, I flip the comb guide open and use the bare cutters to trim the area 2-3 mm just below my nose. It works fine.

The 7890 is a lot longer than previous models, but still fits into my washbag, just. Ergonomically it feels much more comfortable to use than the previous, but I would have liked it to be no longer than previous (but I presume the length is required to accomodate the improved batteries and slimmer body).

There are still 2 further improvements that I would like to see to make this a perfect 5 stars:

- make it showerproof (like many of the current electric shavers) and so it could be rinsed under the tap,

- provide a soft carry case to hold the trimmer, oil and the brush, but not the charger, and protect the trimmer from any damage while in my washbag when i am travelling (my Panasonic shaver has a small, soft carry case that just holds the shaver and cleaning brush, not the carger, but protects the shaver while in my washbag, and keeps the cleaning brush handy)
As stubble Trimmers go, this one is excellent and possibly the best on the market. I am happy I bought it, and I would not hesitate to reccommend it to others.

very pleased, but here are a few good and bad points.
A few points about it (good and bad)

- Its bigger than you think (about the size of a hairdressers hair trimmer) in height, but means it sits nicely and fills your hand.
- Cutting my moustache is not easy, but will do it with a bit of time and nose lifting
- Aesthetically brilliant
- Easy to hold/grip because of the shape
- Adjustable head to the contours of your face which takes some pressure off your wrist
- It comes with oil for the blades and charger and small brush
- its very accurate, digital display is simple

overall - very pleased.
